Biography

Sandra has spent her career directing and producing documentary and television programs appearing on CNN, Netflix, Sundance Channel, History Channel, BBC America, A&E Network, and Discovery Channel.   Working on a wide spectrum of subject matter, she’s passionate about sharing stories on the human condition through an empathetic lens whether it’s interviewing comedy legends like Jim Gaffigan about the difficult art of clean humor, chronicling a young woman’s flourishing sex cam business, or following cancer patients as they storm a boardroom full of hospital executives to demand medical care.

She recently directed and produced a documentary feature film, INHOSPITABLE, which premiered at DOC NYC 2021, Miami Film Festival and Cleveland Film Festival in 2022, and won Best Documentary at the Phoenix Film Festival in 2022.  The stories in INHOSPITABLE were referenced in hearings in the House and the Senate, and the film is currently being used by members of Congress to help write legislation intended to hold hospitals accountable.

Her previous work includes serving as one of the directors and Supervising Producer of the Netflix original documentary series, HOT GIRLS WANTED: TURNED ON which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.  She worked as producer for CNN’s documentary series THE NINETIES and THE HISTORY OF COMEDY and also directs and produces branded content for the children’s multimedia company, WEEWOO, which teaches children tools like meditation and emotional regulation.  She is currently working on a series for a premium cable channel that looks at soccer as a catalyst for change around the world (announcement coming soon!)

She is a member of Film Fatales and Brown Girls Doc Mafia.
